Memorable Art Encounters 2017
Pieter Bruegel's Netherlandish Proverbs
This painting contains depictions of about 100 proverbs... sayings like "living from loaf to loaf", "hitting your head against a wall", and "crying over spilt milk".
I was attending a public lecture on the relationship of music and punishment when the lecturer showed this painting, which includes a depiction of a man under detention.

ma vie en rose by Billie Zangewa
I probably encountered this work during one of my internet hunts.
I noted the bold use of color in this silk tapestry piece.

Untitled (1974) by Cesar Legaspi
Weeks after visiting the Cesar Legaspi exhibition marking the national artist's 100th birthday, I looked through the exhibition flyer again and then wanted to see more of his work.
Browsing the Internet, I find this gem.
Suffice to say, she is sitting comfortably as my screensaver.
