DIY Fashion Workshop at Studio Salamanis

In April, I had the opportunity to hold another DIY Fashion Workshop. With the help and support of Studio Salamanis and Wenny Yosselina, we spent a pleasant afternoon with her colleagues and a few students from the Art Therapy Center in the cozy space lent to us by Studio Salamanis in Bandung, Indonesia.

In this session, one participant worked on customizing a bucket hat - a first for the workshop. While another did work inspired by Sashiko (which is rooted in traditional Japanese mending practices) - another first for the workshop.

Below is an inspiring work from another participant, who already had formal training in fashion and clothes making.

It was a cozy group in a cozy place on a cozy afternoon. :) One participant found the workshop a bit challenging, not having practiced her sewing skills for some time, but commented later on how she liked working with her hands again (as opposed to constantly surfing the net). Another participant was inspired to continue making similar creations. Another said that the workshop was unique for her while another said she enjoyed expressing herself through DIY fashion ;)

The workshop was also held in cooperation with Malikhain Community and Art Space.
